Week 3

Hey there! It is time for our new and updated weekly post! The three types of food that were preserved by three different kinds of methods have probably changed in the past week. Stick around and see how the candied fruit, the salted meat, and the submerged vegetables have changed, or not. Also, there will be included several pictures for you to see the food changes. Sadly, this will be the one of the last posts of the changes in the preserved foods. Do not any tears yet! Stick around, and then you are going to be able to see the bread we are working on! Keep your eyes wide open on what is coming next!

Guess what? The candied fruit has not changed that much at all AGAIN! The fruit smells the same. It smells delicious, its odor is a mixture of pineapple with sugar. The smell has not gotten away, and it is still there. The texture of the fruit has changed a little bit. Some of the fruits had gotten smaller, and the layer it used to have, has been falling. The texture is still like candy. The composition of the fruit is still hard, and rough, but it has softened a little bit. The fruit’s color has gotten darker. The first time, it was very yellowish, last week it was brownish, and now it is becoming light brown. This can be said that it is the most dramatic change in the preserved food. It is thought that it can be still eaten. Therefore, the fruit was able to handle a month preserved, which is greaaat!

Now for the meat! We tell you pals, it hasn't changed at all since the past week, which is good news. Less changes means the food is actually being preserved! The meat has a dark color, smells like well, meat+ the spices, and the texture is loafy and flexible. Yummy! We hope it is actually edible any way.

Now the mushrooms! Oh no wait, there's a tiny winy problem with that. Yesterday afternoon, we remembered that we had to do the update for our blog! Then we checked the refrigerator, and guess what? The worse news ever! The mushrooms where not in there. We asked the maid where they where, she told us the glass container was cleaned by someone, maybe grandma, and that they were not in the refrigerator. We exploted, we didn’t know what to do. So here's an advice: don’t let your mushrooms in the fridge without telling every person that might come to your house even though they don’t live there, do not touching the mushrooms. Because they will think they are in a bad state and throw them to the trash probably. Be careful.

Thank you so much for following our blog! We certainly hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Why don't you try to do any of this recipes? They are awesome, we say this from experience haha. Hopefully there will be one more update post next week, plus the sourdough bread entree. We have two things that we have learned throughout this journey, and we would love to share them with you for your future experiences. 1. Cover your nose thoroughly, most of these things smell worse than the men's locker room. And 2. Beware of your grandmother (or other people who don't live in your house and are extremely tidy and controling), you never know when she might throw away your preserved food because she thought it was spoiled (and maybe it was, but anyways). Thank you for everything folks, and don't forget to keep posted!
